The health and safety of our guests and staff will always be our primary concern. Due to the global pandemic we are all facing together, starting on Wednesday, March 18th and going through June 12th, the distillery will not conduct tours of the facility nor open our bar to patrons for cocktails, tastings or beer. Our visitors center WILL remain open for guests who wish to purchase bottles to go and brand merchandise.

For the first time ever, we will be offering no-contact curbside purchases for patrons. To order curbside pickup simply call our main line at 254-755-6003 to place your order and again when you arrive. One of our staff will meet you at your vehicle to complete the transaction.

We are also offering growler fills on all available beers. You can come by and drop off your growler anytime between 10am – 1pm and we’ll wash, sanitize, & fill it, then have it ready for pickup anytime after 3pm. Current offerings include Promise (English Ale), Yankee (Hazy Pale Ale), and Throwback (Old School IPA).

Again, maintaining the health and safety of our guests and staff are paramount and we share the responsibility of minimizing the risks of COVID-19, so we will continue to practice the following sanitization practices:

– All commonly touched surfaces will be sanitized every 30 minutes including counters, shelves, hand rails, bottles, chairs and door handles

– All staff must wash hands with soap and water every 45 minutes

– All coughs and sneezes must be covered by the pit of the elbow or a disposable tissue, which is immediately disposed of

– Staff will refrain from touching their eyes, nose and mouth. If their hands come in contact with their face, staff must immediately wash hands

– Any symptoms of illness must be reported to management as soon as possible

– Front of House (Tasting Room) staff is not permitted in any production areas. Conversely, distilling and production staff is not permitted in the Front of House

  • Our Tasting Room is open Tuesday – Sunday beginning at 1pm. Visitors can learn about the history and process of Balcones Distilling while enjoying a tasting flight, dram or one of our rotating cocktails. Annual or Special Release Whiskies are available for tasting while supplies last.

    Join us for our weekly happy hour: Tuesday – Friday, 2 – 6pm. $2 off cocktails and 1/2 off full pours.

    Please note that we cannot accommodate infants or children on our tours. Guests must be 19 to join a tour and 21 to taste our spirits.

Guided by one of our distillers, the VIP Tours are an intimate experience where you’ll learn more in-depth about our whisky making process. On the tour, you’ll get to taste samples throughout the process, take an up-close view of the copper stills, visit our barrel-aging rooms, and sip on past & future special releases. Capacity is limited to 10 guests per tour due to space restrictions. VIP Tours are held approximately 6x per year and last up to two (2) hours. This tour & tasting may be refunded up to 2 days prior to your confirmed tour with a full refund, with no refunds after that.

    Our gift shop offers a variety of Balcones merchandise, apparel, glassware and all currently available whiskies. All items (except our whiskies) are available on our online store – visit the Store tab. Whisky sales are restricted to two (2) 750ml bottles per person, every 30 days. Everyone must show a valid ID upon purchase of whisky. If you are interested in a specific whisky, please call ahead of your trip to confirm our current available bottles for sale in the gift shop.
