Ceramic Whisky Cup

Paul A. McCoy, artist and ceramics professor at Baylor University, created these cups as elegant, insulated vessels for enjoying our spirits. Each cup features a unique design and glaze – no two are alike! Please note that this photo is not representative of every cup design we carry and designs are changing all the time!

These whisky cups are wheel-thrown with a blend of clays that are mined in Texas, Missouri, and Kentucky. They are fired in a wood-fueled kiln to approximately 2,400 degrees Fahrenheit. At this temperature, the glaze permanently documents the dynamics of the firing process on the surfaces of the pots. Each piece that emerges from the firing is completely unique, providing a physical and visual record of its journey through the fire.
